On 4 October 2018 in the New Aula of the University Politehnica of Bucharest, we celebrated 200 years since Gheorghe Lazar founded the first higher technical school in Wallachia, The Academic School for Philosophy and Mathematics Sciences at the Monastery St. Sava of Bucharest. The current University Politehnica of Bucharest evolved from this school, celebrating today 200 years of existence. The event enjoyed the participation of His Excellency, Klaus Iohannis, President of Romania, and also of Sorin C\u00e2mpeanu, ex-Minister of Education, and Ioan Aurel Pop, President of the Romanian Academy. Rector Mihnea Costoiu opened the event with a vibrant speech about the values fostered by Politehnica in the Romanian society. We were honoured by the repeated mentions of our mechanics professor for many generations of aerospace engineers, Academician Radu Voinea, and also the mention of cosmonaut Dumitru Dorin Prunariu among the most remarkable alumni of Politehnica in the 200 years of existence.<\/p>\n

President Klaus Iohannis mentioned the academic performance of the University Politehnica of Bucharest and encouraged us to sustain it in the international context, in which universities must increase their competitiveness. European universities will be organized as consortia, but such opportunities demand quick adaptations. The President mentioned among the priorities debureaucratization of universities, the existence of a qualified auxiliary staff and curricular adaptation (the whole\u00a0speech of President Klaus Iohannis<\/a>). Minister Sorin C\u00e2mpeanu addressed the current problems of the Romanian higher education system. The President of the Romanian Academy, Ioan Aurel Pop presented a fascinating vision of the higher education the Romanian language in Transylvanian context, about the activity of\u00a0 Gheorghe Laz\u0103r.<\/p>\n

After the festivity, His Excellency President Klaus Iohannis visited the CAMPUS research center. Among the visited laboratories, he was interested by the the Laboratory of Flight Tests and Experimental Models led by Vice Dean Assoc. Prof. Dr. Eng. Petri\u0219or P\u00e2rvu. We got a couple of images. The delegation of this rewarding visit was joined by personalities of the University Politehnica of Bucharest: Mr. Rector Mihnea Costoiu, Mrs. President of the Senate Ecaterina Andronescu, Mr. Vice President of the Senate.Corneliu Burileanu \u0219i Prof. Dr. Bogdan Ionescu, coordinator of the CAMPUS Research Center.<\/p>\n

Pe 4 octombrie 2018 \u00een Noua Aul\u0103 a Universit\u0103\u021bii Politehnica din Bucure\u0219ti s-a desf\u0103\u0219urat un eveniment festiv cu ocazia anivers\u0103rii a 200 de ani de la \u00eenfiin\u021barea de c\u0103tre Gheorghe Laz\u0103r a primei \u0219coli superioare tehnice din \u021aara Rom\u00e2neasc\u0103, \u201d\u015ecoala Academiceasc\u0103 pentru \u015etiin\u0163ele Filozofe\u015fti \u015fi Matematice\u015fti\u201d de la M\u00e2nastirea Sf\u00e2ntul Sava din Bucure\u015fti. Din aceasta e evoluat Universitatea Politehnica din Bucure\u0219ti, care ast\u0103zi aniverseaz\u0103 astfel dou\u0103 secole de existen\u021b\u0103. Evenimentul s-a bucurat de prezen\u021ba ES dl. Pre\u0219edinte Klaus Iohannis, a d-lui Ministru Sorin C\u00e2mpeanu, a d-lui Pre\u0219edinte al Academiei Ioan Aurel Pop, precum \u0219i a majorit\u0103\u021bii Rectorilor universit\u0103\u021bilor din Rom\u00e2nia \u00eentruni\u021bi \u00een Consiliul Na\u021bional al Rectorilor. Dl. Rector Mihnea Costoiu a deschis evenimentul cu un discurs vibrant, \u00een care am reg\u0103sit valorile promovate de Politehnic\u0103 \u00een societatea rom\u00e2neasc\u0103. Ne-a onorat omagierea Academicianului Radu Voinea, profesorul de mecanic\u0103 al multor genera\u021bii de aeronavi\u0219ti \u0219i de asemenea, men\u021bionarea cosmonautului Dumitru Dorin Prunariu printre cei mai remarcabili absolven\u021bi ai Politehnicii \u00een cei 200 de ani de existen\u021b\u0103.<\/p>

Dl. Pre\u0219edinte Klaus Iohannis a men\u021bionat performan\u021ba academic\u0103 a Universit\u0103\u021bii Politehnica din Bucure\u0219ti \u0219i a \u00eencurajat\u00a0 sus\u021binerea acesteia \u00een contextul interna\u021bional, \u00een care universit\u0103\u021bile trebuie s\u0103 devin\u0103 tot mai competitive. Se vor organiza universit\u0103\u021bi europene sub forma de consor\u021bii, dar aceste oportunit\u0103\u021bi necesit\u0103 o adaptare rapid\u0103. Pre\u0219edintele a men\u021bionat printre priorit\u0103\u021bi debirocratizarea, existen\u021ba unui personal auxiliar calificat \u0219i adaptarea curricular\u0103 (\u00eentregul\u00a0discurs al Pre\u0219edintelui Klaus Iohannis<\/a>). Dl. Ministru Sorin C\u00e2mpeanu s-a referit la problemele actuale ale \u00eenv\u0103\u021b\u0103m\u00e2ntului superior rom\u00e2nesc. Dl. Pre\u0219edinte al Academiei, Ioan Aurel Pop ne-a oferit o viziune interesant\u0103 a \u00eenv\u0103\u021b\u0103m\u00e2ntului superior \u00een limba rom\u00e2n\u0103, \u00een context transilv\u0103nean, despre activitatea lui Gheorghe Laz\u0103r.<\/p>

Dup\u0103 festivit\u0103\u021bi, ES Pre\u0219edintele Klaus Iohannis a vizitat Centrul de Cercet\u0103ri CAMPUS. Printre laboratoarele vizitate s-a num\u0103rat \u0219i Laboratorul de \u00cencerc\u0103ri \u00een Zbor \u0219i Modele Experimentale condus de Prodecan Conf. dr. ing. Petri\u0219or P\u00e2rvu, de la care am surprins c\u00e2teva imagini. Delega\u021bia acestei onorante vizite a fost \u00eenso\u021bit\u0103 de personalit\u0103\u021bi ale Universit\u0103\u021bii Politehnica din Bucure\u0219ti: dl. Rector Mihnea Costoiu, d-na Pre\u0219edinte al Senatului Ecaterina Andronescu, dl. Vicepre\u0219edinte al Senatului Corneliu Burileanu \u0219i dl.
