Another fallen star of the Romanian aviation! The aviation community is in tears. Dan \u0218tef\u0103nescu was a top class pilot engineer, who fascinated us with his evolutions. There is so much left to learn from him. At the Aerobatic Yakers Aerodrome, pilots came to achieve flying techniques to manage critical situations. After theory, they practiced with Dan in his Yak-52. I met there a F-4 US pilot, Vietnam veteran. He explained why did he take Dan\u2019s course, in spite of his many flight hours: after retirement he started to fly smaller airplanes. He had an incident in a flat spin, and taking some luck to get out, and now he wanted to learn the recovering technique from a master. The supply of pilot courses worldwide in plentiful, but just a few regard the high class flying. The Safety Demo courses of the B\u0103ne\u0219ti Aerodrome saved many pilot lives and allowed many pilots to improve their flying technique in limit manoeuvres. The Aerobatic Yakers aerodrome is located close to the Aurel Vlaicu monument. When I was flying with Dan over the monument, in spite of the loud engine noise, I felt in the headphones the emotion in his voice, speaking of Aurel Vlaicu, about his accident when attempting to cross Carpathians in flight. The legacy of Aurel Vlaicu was the passion for flight, combining high class flying with aeronautical engineering, and winning world class pilot competitions, in times when only the most powerful nations participated. We consider that Dan \u0218tef\u0103nescu is a modern Aurel Vlaicu: top class pilot and engineer, inventor and leader, but also patriot. Let us preserve from Dan \u0218tef\u0103nescu this flame of passion for aviation, and honour his memory, of a man of integrity, brave, patriot, willing to teach others but also to learn more. The competence and professionalism of Dan \u0218tef\u0103nescu were epical, so this accident on 26 March 2022 is impossible to explain for our aviation community. Dan \u0218tef\u0103nescu was a way opener, a creator of value, and a successful entrepreneur. Why the best of us have to leave us so early?<\/p>\n

A mai c\u0103zut o stea a avia\u021biei rom\u00e2ne\u0219ti! Comunitatea aeronautic\u0103 este \u00een lacrimi. Dan \u0218tef\u0103nescu era un pilot inginer de \u00eenalt\u0103 clas\u0103, care ne fascina cu evolu\u021biile lui. De la el am fi avut \u00eenc\u0103 multe de \u00eenv\u0103\u021bat. La Aerodromul Iac\u0103rilor Acroba\u021bi din B\u0103ne\u0219ti, Prahova, veneau pilo\u021bi din \u00eentreaga lume s\u0103 \u00eenve\u021be tehnici de pilotaj pentru a ie\u0219i din cele mai grele situa\u021bii. \u00cenv\u0103\u021bau teorie, apoi zburau cu Dan \u00een Yak-ul lui \u0219i exersau. Un pilot american de F-4, veteran din r\u0103zboiul din Vietnam, mi-a explicat de ce\u00a0 venise la cursurile lui Dan \u0218tef\u0103nescu, de\u0219i avea destule ore de zbor: ie\u0219ise la pensie \u0219i zbura avioane mai mici. Avusese un incident cu o vrie plat\u0103 din care ie\u0219ise cu mult noroc \u0219i acum dorea s\u0103 st\u0103p\u00e2neasc\u0103 tehnica de redresare de la un maestru. Exist\u0103 foarte multe cursuri de pilotaj \u00een lume, dar extrem de pu\u021bine se ocup\u0103 de pilotajul de \u00eenalt\u0103 clas\u0103. Cursurile Safety Demo de la Aerodromul din B\u0103ne\u0219ti au salvat multe vie\u021bi de pilo\u021bi \u0219i au permis multor pilo\u021bi s\u0103-\u0219i \u00eembun\u0103t\u0103\u021beasc\u0103 tehnica pilotajului \u00een manevre la limit\u0103. Aerodromul Iac\u0103rilor Acroba\u021bi este situat aproape de monumentul lui Aurel Vlaicu. C\u00e2nd am zburat cu Dan pe deasupra monumentului, cu tot zgomotul infernal al motorului, am sim\u021bit \u00een c\u0103\u0219ti emo\u021bia din vocea lui, vorbind despre Aurel Vlaicu, despre accidentul lui \u00een temerara \u00eencercare de a traversa Carpa\u021bii \u00een zbor. Mo\u0219tenirea lui Aurel Vlaicu era pasiunea pentru zbor \u0219i \u00eembinarea pilotajului de \u00eenalt\u0103 clas\u0103 cu ingineria aeronautic\u0103, precum \u0219i c\u00e2\u0219tigarea unor concursuri interna\u021bionale de pilotaj la momentul c\u00e2nd doar cele mai puternice na\u021biuni ale lumii participau. Pe Dan \u0218tef\u0103nescu \u00eel consideram un Aurel Vlaicu modern: pilot \u0219i inginer de \u00eenalt\u0103 clas\u0103, inovator \u0219i lider, dar \u0219i patriot. S\u0103 p\u0103str\u0103m de la Dan \u0218tef\u0103nescu aceast\u0103 flac\u0103r\u0103 a pasiunii pentru avia\u021bie, s\u0103 cinstim memoria lui de om dintr-o bucat\u0103, curajos, patriot, dornic tot timpul s\u0103-i \u00eenve\u021be pe al\u021bii dar \u0219i s\u0103 \u00eenve\u021be el \u00eensu\u0219i. Competen\u021ba \u0219i profesionalismul lui Dan \u0218tef\u0103nescu erau epice, de aceea accidentul din 26 martie 2022 este inexplicabil pentru comunitatea noastr\u0103. Dan \u0218tef\u0103nescu a fost un deschiz\u0103tor de drumuri, un creator de valoare \u0219i un antreprenor de succes. De trebuie s\u0103 plece cei mai buni dintre noi at\u00e2t de devreme?<\/p>
