The company was located in rue de Rivoli, central Paris. Blank and his French partner, Pierre de Fleurieu, aimed at establishing CFRNA as market leader in the airplane connections between East and West European capitals. CFRNA flew POTEZ IX French airplanes and hired famous ex-military pilots, such as Louis Guidon (Photo).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-1475 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/inginerie.aero\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/Fig197-CFRNA-762x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"762\" height=\"1024\" srcset=\"https:\/\/inginerie.aero\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/Fig197-CFRNA-762x1024.jpg 762w, https:\/\/inginerie.aero\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/Fig197-CFRNA-223x300.jpg 223w, https:\/\/inginerie.aero\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/Fig197-CFRNA-768x1033.jpg 768w, https:\/\/inginerie.aero\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/Fig197-CFRNA-610x820.jpg 610w, https:\/\/inginerie.aero\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/Fig197-CFRNA.jpg 940w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 762px) 100vw, 762px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The first air line Paris-Strasbourg was opened on 20<sup>th<\/sup> of September 1920. Other route destinations followed progressively, up to Bucharest and finally Constantinople (Istanbul). In 1923, CFRNA introduced the first night service for passenger transport between Belgrade and Bucharest, pushing the limits of VFR. Back then, two challenges confronted the air transport pioneers: route length, and regularity of service, both pushing further the limits of VFR. In 1924 CFRNA inaugurated a winter flight Paris-Moscow, testing regularity in tough weather, challenging the mythical Russian winter for the first time. The flight took 49 days due to multiple forced landings caused by carburetor icing. The flight captured the attention of the media and retaliated against the skeptics of the air transport, in large numbers at the time, who claimed that flying is only for the summer.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1477 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/inginerie.aero\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/Fig199-1924.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"443\" height=\"582\" srcset=\"https:\/\/inginerie.aero\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/Fig199-1924.jpg 443w, https:\/\/inginerie.aero\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/Fig199-1924-228x300.jpg 228w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 443px) 100vw, 443px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In 1925, CFRNA had an extended network of passenger services, covering the following airports on a daily basis: Strassbourg, Basel, Zurich, N\u00fcrnberg, Prague, Breslau, Warsaw, Vienna, Budapest, Belgrade, Sofia, Bucharest, Istanbul, Salonic, Athens. To mark its international expansion, the company was rebranded as Compagnie Internationale de Navigation A\u00e9rienne (CIDNA). A trade name was invented for this flight: \u201cOrient Arrow\u201d (see posters below). In their Paris-Bucharest-Constantinople regular passenger service on the Danube Valley, the airplanes were crossing Serbia. The people in Novi Sad were frightened by the new machines invading their skies, and complained that since the flights started, there was no more rain in the area. They demanded an immediate stop to all flights, on the grounds that agriculture is affected.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1478 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/inginerie.aero\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/PotezIX.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"249\" srcset=\"https:\/\/inginerie.aero\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/PotezIX.jpg 450w, https:\/\/inginerie.aero\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/PotezIX-300x166.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 450px) 100vw, 450px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In 1933, CIDNA merged with other four French companies: Air Orient, Compagnie G\u00e9n\u00e9rale A\u00e9ropostale, Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 G\u00e9n\u00e9rale de Transport A\u00e9rien (SGTA, the first French carrier, founded as Lignes A\u00e9riennes Farman in 1919), and Air Union. Zborul a durat 49 de zile din cauza mai multor ateriz\u0103ri for\u021bate de givrajul motorului, f\u0103c\u00e2nd v\u00e2lv\u0103 \u00een presa vremii \u0219i contrazic\u00e2nd numero\u0219ii sceptici ai transportului aerian, care preconizau inaplicabilitatea lui pe timp de iarn\u0103.<\/p><p><img class=\"size-full wp-image-1477 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/inginerie.aero\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/Fig199-1924.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"443\" height=\"582\" \/><\/p><p>\u00cen 1925 CFRNA avea servicii de transport de pasageri zilnice, acoperind urm\u0103toarele aeroporturi:\u00a0Strassbourg, Basel, Zurich, N\u00fcrnberg, Praga, Breslau (Wroclaw), Var\u0219ovia, Viena, Budapesta, Belgrad, Sofia, Bucure\u0219ti, Istanbul, Salonic, Atena. Pentru a-\u0219i marca anvergura interna\u021bional\u0103, compania a fost redenumit\u0103\u00a0Compagnie Internationale de Navigation A\u00e9rienne (CIDNA). Localnicii din Novi Sad s-au speriat de noile ma\u0219ini care le br\u0103zdau cerul \u0219i s-au pl\u00e2ns c\u0103 de c\u00e2nd au \u00eenceput zborurile, a \u00eencetat s\u0103 mai plou\u0103.
