The Student Aerospace Challenge 2017-2018<\/p>\n

(http:\/\/www.studentaerospacechallenge.eu\/index.php<\/a>) was launched a few days ago and the organisation committee is encouraging applications from all ESA Member States (including Romania)!<\/p>\n

This challenge proposed by the Astronaute Club Europ\u00e9en (ACE) and its industrial and institutional partners allows university student teams\u00a0to\u00a0work on the different aspects\u00a0of a suborbital manned spaceflight mission, with a focus on economically viable and environmentally friendly solutions.<\/p>\n

In order to provide\u00a0the teams\u00a0with a clear working basis, the mission is divided in\u00a010\u00a0different Work Packages:
\nWP1 – Aerodynamic and Flight Control<\/a>
\nWP2 – Structure suited to suborbital flight<\/a>
\nWP3 – Reusable propulsion<\/a>
\nWP4 – Cabin layout and associated equipment<\/a>
\nWP5 – Spaceport<\/a>
\nWP6 – Communication<\/a>
\nWP7 – Project economy<\/a>
\nWP8 – Legal frame and environmental rules<\/a>
\nWP9 – Medicine<\/a>
\nWP10 – Airworthiness<\/a><\/p>\n

Students have the opportunity to create a team, put their knowledge into practice by working on a specific work package (linked to their core activity or in complement) and enjoy the privilege to add to their education an original experience which brings them closer to the aerospace sector.<\/p>\n

Selected teams will have around 5 months to work on their projects and submit a report. They will then be invited to the Suborbital Day where they will get the opportunity to present their project to the partners of this challenge, including Dassault Aviation, Airbus Groups,\u00a0Ariane Group\u00a0and ESA.<\/p>\n

Students wishing to participate in the Challenge need to get an oral authorization\u00a0from an official member of their university (Director, Studies director, Professor, etc.) and apply through the „Application” section of the official\u00a0website<\/a>. They will need to specify the selected work package and provide a cover letter describing their motivation and skills.<\/p>\n

Key dates:<\/strong>
\n1st December 2017: application deadline
\n15 December 2017: deadline for submission of technical summary
\n13 May 2018: deadline for sending report and poster in an electronic form
\n12 June 2018: ‘The Suborbital Day’ – \u00a0a special event gathering students and partners, ending the eleventh exercise of the Student Aerospace Challenge<\/p>\n

Studen\u021bii au oportunitatea de a forma o echip\u0103, de a-\u0219i pune cuno\u0219tin\u021bele \u00een practic\u0103 prin lucrul la un anumit WP (legat de activitatea lor de baz\u0103 sau complementar acesteia) \u0219i s\u0103 se bucure de privilegiul unei experien\u021be originale ad\u0103ugate educa\u021biei lor, mai aproape de sectorul aerospa\u021bial.<\/p>

Echipele selectate vor avea aproximativ 5 luni de lucru la proiectele lor, dup\u0103 care vor depune un raport. Apoi vor fi invita\u021bi la Ziua Suborbital\u0103 unde vor avea oportunitatea de a-\u0219i rpezenta proiectul \u00een fa\u021ba partenerilor, care \u00eei includ pe\u00a0Dassault Aviation, Airbus Groups,\u00a0Ariane Group \u0219i ESA.<\/p>

Studen\u021bii care doresc s\u0103 participe au nevoie de o autorizare verbal\u0103 din partea unui oficial al universit\u0103\u021bii (Director departamental, Decan, Prodecan, Profesor) \u0219i s\u0103 aplice prin sec\u021biunea\u00a0\"Application\" a site-ului oficial (official\u00a0website<\/a>).
