The Association was established as a legal person on 21st of September 2017 and was founded by five graduates of the Faculty of Aerospace Engineering of the University Politehnica of Bucharest (ex Faculty of Aerospace Constructions, ex Faculty of Aircraft):

Before 2017, the association functioned informally since 2008, as a committee under the name of AirNav Board, and it steered the creation of new programs of studies in English, adapted to the international requirements: Air Navigation (bachelor of engineering program authorized in 2009, accredited in 2016) and Air Transport Engineering (master of engineering, started in 2013).

Both in the AirNav Board era, and later, after becoming a legal person, the association was involved in the following projects to the benefit of the graduates and of the students of the Faculty of Aerospace Engineering – UPB:

  • Defining curricula for the Air Navigation and Air Transport Engineering programs of studies;
  • The faculty site and promoting materials (brochure, calendar);
  • Organization of the Air Navigation Convention and of other scientific and professional events;
  • Providing and promoting job and internship openings;
  • Attracting sponsorship for the laboratories of the Faculty of Aerospace Engineering and for the organization of extracurricular activities;
  • Fostering academic and industrial partnerships, enouraging student mobility, encouraging the international opening of the faculty;
  • Reintroduction of the Flying Practice for the 2nd Year students.
