Alumnus 2010 Dr. ing. Ciprian Dumitrache was awarded the prestigious prize Ad Astra 2020 for excellency in scientific research, at the engineering sciences section. Graduate 2010 of the Faculty of Aerospace Engineering University Politehnica of Bucharest, propulsion systems, Ciprian won a Fulbright Scholarship. In the United States he studied at Georgia Tech and got his PhD degree at Colorado State University with the thesis “Novel Laser Ignition Technique using Dual-Pulse Pre-Ionization”. His specialization Combustion, Plasma and Laser Spectroscopy is a leading edge one. He did postdoc studies at École Centrale Supélec, in France. Since 2020 he is researcher at National Institute for Laser, Plasma & Radiation Physics of Măgurele, in the Solid-State Quantum Electronics Laboratory. He was involved in the activity of Euroavia Bucharest, running more activities with the students, the latest being in 2019. The photo was taken at a Rocket Workshop Euroavia session 2011.
